Arts

The intention of the author is to look at the world through a combination of "feet on the ground" reality and "head in the clouds" aspiration. Also, the quality of the art work does not demonstrate that the artist is highly skilled. This is because the art work does not show any art skills, it looks quite simple to do, meaning that there has not to be a Michaelangelo to be able to do it. In my opinion, I dont see this as an art work because it is something that if it were not enclosed in glass it would be considered a work of art. In this piece of art, the artist is imitating the beauty of nature, animals. The artist is trying to transmit or convey the importance of nature and specially the animals in which many people dont realize how special they are. Last, this art work teaches that there are many ways of expressing art, art is not only painting but there art is also sculptures and many more things.

Human Sciences

]
The experiment Magic Number Seven: Plus or Minus Two, by George Miller, attempted to discover what were our limits on our capacity to process information. He recorded information from many small experiments that tested how well an individual could recognize a tone. Seven was the average of tones any individual could recognize with minimal error. George Miller theorized that this number represents the number of items we are able to hold in our short term memory at any given time. Recent studies have demonstrated that people are able to group items in short term memory, which is being able to hold more individual items, so even there the total if groupings are considered units, the number comes out to 7.

Assisted Suicide, Euthanasia

1. Switzerland (1941, physician and non-physician assisted suicide only);
2. Belgium (2002, permits 'euthanasia' but does not define the method;
3. Netherlands (voluntary euthanasia and physician-assisted suicide lawful since April 2002 but permitted by the courts since l984).

In England and Wales there is a possibility of up to 14 years imprisonment for anybody assisting a suicide.France does not have a specific law banning assisted suicide, but such a case could be prosecuted under 223-6 of the Penal Code for failure to assist a person in danger.

http://www.assistedsuicide.org/suicide_laws.html

I my opinion, assisted suicide is a way of ending a person's life, which is something bad to do. Under God's beliefs, suicide is very bad because you murder yourself, and it is a sin to kill and it is much worst to kill yourself because God is the inly one who decides when and how you will die.

Mathematics

On this picture you can see various ferns. Ferns are a great example of fractals because they are self-organizing and the they repeat over and over again.

Fractals always seem to mimic oceans and plants and planets and atoms and internal organs and art. This video shows a great variety of fractals demonstrating the different forms or figures they have.

High altitude Experiment- Nazi

> In early 1942, the Nazis came up with various unethical experiments. Prisoners at Dachau concentration camp were used by Rascher in experiments to aid German pilots who had to be released at high altitudes. This was used to simulate conditions at altitudes of up to 20,000 m. There were some rumors stating that Rascher performed vivisections on the brains of victims who survived one of the first experiments. Of the 200 people, 80 died outright, and the others were executed.
> The experiment created by the Nazis is really unethical because no scientific knowledge is worth a human life and specially is its going to be used for war or for selfish purposes. Also, because it is extremely painful and violates the human rights, so obviously it can not be done.

Perception

1. I believe that doubt is the key to perception because if there were no doubts, we would never question anything so then we would never create our own opinions or a sense of perception towards something.
2. A cultural example of this is the perception of other countries towards Honduras. There are people form various cuntries in the world, which dont know where Honduras is until they noticed about the political problems we have here and how insecure it is. Once I met some people in the other part of the world, and when they heard I was from Honduras, they were amazed. First of all, some of them asked me where was such country located, and some of them thought it was a little country somewhere in Africa while others said it was a such dangerous and poor country somewhere in America. Unfortunately, this is how people think of our country, but as mentioned it is incredible what the foreign people's perception of Honduras is.
3. Everyday in school, we are constantly doubting things in order to prove them and to create a certain idea of what that and try to be 100% percent of it, especially a sense of perception on every subjects. For example in Math, we are constantly doing group works for practicing hard problems, so we always doubt before turning in the work we did because we were not sure about many things. This is a situation of doubtness commonly seen in such subject, math, because it is a very hard subject to always be 100% sure of every answer. So, without doubtness there would be no knowledge.
4. A personal experience would be when I was told that a friend was saying bad things behind my back, I would not believe it because I had known her all my life. But, then I started to doubt this because even though I had known her my whole life I did know she tends make bad coments about her other friends and many people. This is because I perceive she is a good person but still proved me wrong.

Fear

Since I was a child, I enjoyed practicing gymnastics every day. But, I had a fear which was to fall off when I was in the air and hit my head or get injured.

Discuss the role of language and reason in history

Opinion: Language is important in human history

Without language, the entire world would be a confusion. Language is important in history because it helps people communicate and know their differences and similarities. Also, it contributes to education and investigation as well as informing people of new generations of past activities that have made a change in human history.

Opinion: Decisions are based on a well reasoned analysis

Reason is important in history because all the decisions that have been made over the years obey to the analysis of different variables that help you conclude with the best decision. Therefor a well made decision must be based on the analysis or reasoning of different variables. For example nine eleven, the attack to the twin towers, which was caused by terrorists. This made the US government analyze what happened and then increase security, not only in the US but in the whole world.

Thermopylae War
Thermopylae was a pass the Greeks tried to defend in battle against Persians led by Xerxes, in 480 B.C. The Persians won the Battle of Thermopylae. Xeres wanted to expand Persia, so he went to Greece and won most of Greece's mainland. When he finished and conquered, he decided to burn Athens. After this, the Allied navy at Artemisium received news of the defeat at Thermopylae. Since their strategy required both Thermopylae and Artemisium to be held, and given their losses, the Allied navy decided to withdraw to Salamis. In short, they were able to get what they wanted, fought for it, and finally obtained their land.
Spanish American War

On April 21, 1898, the United States declared war against Spain due to the sinking of the Battleship Maine in the Havana harbor on February 15, 1898. The U.S. also supported the struggle of Cuba, Puerto Rico and the Philippines for independence against Spanish rule. Many people desired freedom above everything. Even though all they wanted was freedom, the outcome of this war were the deaths of many and the future conflicts between the U.S and some european countries. The war cost the United States $250 million and 3,000 lives, 90% which perished from yellow fever, typhoid fever and other infectious diseases.
Cold War
The Cold War began after the World War Two. The conflict was between the United States and The Soviet Union. It was the major force in world politics for most of the second half of the twentieth century. The United States and the Soviet Union were the only two superpowers following the Second World War. The Cold War world was separated into three groups. The United States led the West. This group included countries with democratic political systems. The Soviet Union led the East. Cold War tensions increased, then eased, then increased again over the years. There were some changes when both sides tried to influence political and economic developments around the world. The Cold War also affected the middle east. In the 1950s, both east and west offered aid to Egypt to build the Aswan High Dam on the Nile River. The west canceled its offer, however, after Egypt bought weapons from a communist government. Perhaps the most central conflict of the Cold War, probably the defining conflict, was the division of Germany. Over all, the major events of this period including; the development of the hydrogen bomb, the nuclear arms race, détente, nuclear proliferation and the nuclear world after the end of the Cold War.

The variety of paintings I found in the art exhibition were quite interesting, especially this one. I really like the message the artist conveys and most of all the colors he used.

I love my grandparents, but my grandma, my mom's mother, is a prominent part of my life. I will always try to support her in every problem she confronts until the day she is gone.
The unforgettable trip I made to Singapore completely changed my life. Besides the fact that I had the chance to experience a totally different culture, I got to meet people from other countries that I will never forget.

Table Tennis is a vital aspect of my life because it not only provides me with an excellent hobby but also gives me the chance to visit and learn more about other cultures. Also allows me to have friends all over the world.

Friends are relevant to me because they help me when they can and I know I can always count on them. I will never never forget my long life friends.

My family is important to me because they have always been there for me, supporting me on every decision I make. Without them I would not be the person I am today.
